Infinya automates Hebrew supplier invoice processing with DocuPipe
Infinya is Israel's largest recycling and packaging company, bringing Amnir, Hadera Paper and Carmel Frenkel under one brand across the full value chain from waste paper collection to advanced packaging. With document processing powered by DocuPipe, Infinya splits, classifies and extracts Hebrew supplier invoices automatically, routing each document straight to the right process in its systems.
Challenge
Infinya's business spans manufacturing, logistics, procurement, sales, finance, HR and information systems. Every one of those functions runs on paperwork, and the pile grows every day.
"The organization deals daily with large quantities of documents and unstructured information, and the need to automate those processes keeps growing," says Dudu Mahabad, CTO of Software Systems at Infinya.
Supplier invoice intake is where that lands hardest. Invoices arrive in different structures, often spanning several pages, bundled with appendices and content that has nothing to do with intake. Almost all of it is in Hebrew - a right-to-left language that most document processing tools handle poorly - and much of it arrives as tables, long lists and layouts that change from one supplier to the next.
Solution
Infinya evaluated a range of OCR, document processing and AI tools. The decisive criterion was Hebrew: whatever they picked had to work well in Hebrew alongside English, and hold up on complex documents with inconsistent structure. DocuPipe came out ahead on both extraction quality and understanding of the content.
Results
Invoices split, classified and routed
DocuPipe handles invoice intake in two steps.
First it identifies the pages that matter inside the file and filters out the rest, so an invoice bundled with appendices and unrelated paperwork gets separated before anything else happens.
Then it classifies each document - debit invoice, credit invoice, accompanying document, or another type of financial paperwork - so it can be routed to the right process in Infinya's systems, with the invoice data already extracted and structured.
Over 65% of all supplier invoices now go through DocuPipe. The rollout was fast and the reaction from users was strongly positive: shorter handling times, less repeat work, and people freed up for higher-value tasks.
Beyond accuracy
Hebrew is what won the evaluation, but flexibility is what expanded it.
"For us, the central value of DocuPipe is the ability to turn unstructured information into information we can work with inside business processes and information systems," says Mahabad.
A large share of Infinya's business processes run on Hebrew documents with tables, long lists and changing structures. Handling those reliably turned DocuPipe from a point solution into something Infinya builds on, and they continue to find new processes to put it to work on.
We tested a range of OCR, document processing and AI tools before we expanded. DocuPipe gave us the best results, both in extraction quality and understanding of the content, and in handling documents in Hebrew.
